SORRY! For not posting for sooo long..=P Yesterday, i went for FGA Christian Youth Fellowship..and it was pretty cool. We had a cool band that performed for us and led the worship, the music was pretty awesome=) But what came next was even better..lol. One of the guys in the band shared with us his testimony..it was kinda touching..=p By the way, he's from SINGAPORE! Singaporean Pride...hehe, anyways.
He grew up in a family that didn't show much love to him. Altho his parents loved him, they didn't really show it. And everytime he did well in his exams, it always wasn't good enough for his parents..if he scored 90%, they would ask him "WHY NOT 95%??"....-.-
So he grew up with triads and gangs in singapore..started with wagging school..then cigarettes..then drugs.. He was also especially interested in playing the guitar, so he would play all sorts of guitars, 24-7 ... So he became really good and formed his band and all, his agent would organise for him to go overseas for concerts.. And almost everytime, he would be bring some drugs from country to country.
In 1994, just days before New Year's Day, he was in the changi airport after his flight from Thailand or something..at that time, he was bringing quite a lot of Nicotine(that how u spell it?). As u guys noe, 1st offence is Drug possesion, 2nd offence is drug trafficking and the 3rd HEAVY offence is drug IMPORTING and it could cuz a person to be jailed for 30 years and 27 strokes of the rattan.. SO..he was caught..and found guilty for DRUG IMPORTATION..-,= SwAy. At that point..he realised that all he had done was a mistake..and it cost him a great deal..he turned to God..he went for a Christian Teen Challenge programme. When there was an Altar Call, he went up and said to God, "Lord, i give my life to you, from now onwards it is yours..i've made a mess out of it..so i just give the rest of what i have to you.."
Ok, this is the moment of truth. The judge says.."Glen, I've never done this in my life and it hasn't been done before by any judge in Singapore..but i'm am going to reduce your heaviest offence of drug importation to a mere offence for drug possesion..6 months jail for u.." At that point..Glen (the dude) was just sooo touched..what was a THIRTY YEARS sentence compared to a SIX MONTHS sentence.. um, i guess A LOT? Plus, no skin ripping caning for him..lol. He said he was the only one in the whole prison line SMILING=) See how great and mighty God is?
After he got outta prision. He remembered his vow, and now, he and his christian band go country to country reaching out to the youths of today true music. True good music..
Well...the morale of his testimony..was that, even in the WORST situations...God's big plan for your life will turn out for the BEST..there is always lots to learn and lots to be happy about. Like some of u noe, remember the story of Joseph. He was sold by his brothers..but ended up as a ruler second only to Pharoah of Eygpt!
ONE more thing about MY life...GABRIELLE KEEPS CORKING ME! She keeps kicking a weak spot on my thigh and it's like SORE...-.- for one whole day..i better tell her not to do that anymore..what if she's actually breaking a legiment or something..and destroys my whole soccer career?!??!?! lol..rite..-.-
